This is the last post about our trip to Paris. I saved these photos for last to show you my favorite place in all Paris. LE MARAIS

Le Marais is a district where you can find art galleries, trendy restaurants, fashion houses, eclectic and alternative people besides the gorgeous and old, I mean old building architecture. The area is cozy and filled with unique jewelry galleries

One specific place called my attention; a gothic-ish dark galleria called Gavilane, if you love skulls, unique and over the top jewelries, this is your place. To get in you have to make an appointment, well I didn't, I actually knocked the door and kindly the owner let me in ( apparently he noticed my shining Eager eyes). The galleria owner is proud of his shop, he uses the same YSL and Lacroix manufacture ....so sometimes you have the feeling you are looking pieces from top name designers. The good thing? The price is an fraction of what you would pay

My husband and I celebrated my birthday at the Kong's restaurant (thanks Mary). If you have the chance to go to Paris, I highly recommend it. The Kong is a trendy restaurant bar on the top floor of the Louis Vuitton building and designed by Philippe Stark. The view of the Paris Seine river is magnificent. Unfortunately it took one hour and half to get a table ( with reservation ).....a well worth enduring the pretension

I have learned so much about fashion reading other blogs. A year ago while reading a post from (life in travel blog ), I learned about one of a kind jewelry, by Hanna Bernhard. I got fascinated with their creations and during my trip to Paris I had the opportunity to meet the Hanna Bernhard designers: Natalie and Fernand, a super friendly couple.

Their atelier is filled with unique animal pieces all made by their hands

After some delicious chocolate truffles and a spilled cup of tea ( by me) I left with a smile on my face.

My piece was ordered and it is in the process of being made right now and it should be here by March

We took a day to enjoy ourselves, my mom stayed with the kids and hubby and I went to explore the city. The first stop: Marriage Freres - Maison de The a Paris. I have been to Tokyo MF couple years ago, but always wanted to visit the one in Paris ( since 1830)

My suitcase is almost done, I tried hard to pack only the essentials ;) as you can see there are a lot of sparkling items, ladies I am going to Paris, the glamour glitter city!!!!

The booties can be wearing with any of the outfits above. For long walks I chose my "super comfy ~~soldier~~ " boots. My TOMS alpargata is the "rescue one" just in case the 4.5 inch heels upsets my feet

The lotions, perfumes, shampoo, etc all in mini size to save space. To keep me warm, these two bags are filled with layers of under clothes

My two favorite items: the "pin box" and the "manicure box". The pin box I bought in Japan, it's small and fits anywhere, it's always there for my wild hair. The manicure box is a find. I have been looking for one like that in years. This one is from Germany, they are all stainless teal and the convenient small leather box fits in any purse

As you can see, on purpose there is extra empty space....for more jewelry!!!! I hope to find some unique and incredible peaces in this trip

Last week we went to visit Strasbourg, France.

Strasbourg was classified a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1988. The city is fused into culture and although violently disputed throughout history, has been a bridge of unity between France and Germany for centuries.

Strasbourg has an interesting and fascinating history (I recommend wikipedia).

In 1805 Napoleon Bonaparte and his first wife, Josephine ( her first night in France Country) stayed in Strasbourg

Notre Dame - Strasbourg Cathedral, on which construction began in the twelfth century, was completed in the fourteenth century and became the Worlds' Tallest Building, surpassing the Great Pyramid of Giza. The details are incredible!!

For the Sherlock Holmes fans, the movie "A game of Shadows" was shooting around and inside the Strasbourg Cathedral. The scene is said to be the opening scene of the movie, as it will cover an assassination-bombing in a German speaking town.

Christmas Market in Germany is a big event, the one in Stuttgart is the oldest one, over 300 years old. You can find hot wine (gluehwein), all over the market, it helps to keep you worm in this cold weather. There are over 300 stalls, all selling exquisite wooden toys, hand crafted gifts and baubles, glassware, sheepskin clothing, gingerbread, honey waffles, baked apples...I just love all this!

Last night I went to Zara and while trying a few blouses I decided to take some pictures for some of you that has no Zara store around but only online. For the last 6 years living in Japan the only access I had to major stores were online, now that I have the option to try it on, it made my purchase decisions easier and also cheaper since I don't have to keep items that I am not able to return.

Today is raining and cold, definitely not a good day for running errands, I should had brought an extra coat to be safe. Today we took a little break from the kids, my hubby and I went downtown to a very special restaurant: Da Mauricio

Today, we met Ina and her family at her town: Heidelberg. I have to say this city is one of the most beautiful cities I have seen

The "old town" (Altstadt), it is dominated by the ruins of the Heidelberg Castle

Also, Heidelberg is known for its institutions of higher education. The most famous of those is the University of Heidelberg. Founded in 1386, it is one of Europe's oldest institutions. In fact, Heidelberg is the oldest university town of today's Germany

I can't wait to start to decorate our new home, we have three more weeks to be able to move in. My husband and I spent the last couple of weeks furniture shopping, I am speechless there are so many beautiful pieces we have seen.This Country is the capital of the modernism!
I have everything in mind how I want my living/dinning room, bedrooms...my design concept has been on paper(with some changes here and there) for couple of years and finally I have the chance to put it in practice.
It wasn't hard to find the perfect sofa, actually it was hard to decide" the one" between so many beautiful choices. We got a gorgeous Italian sofa all in white leather. The rug, pictures and pillows...that will acompany the sofa I bought months( click here, here and here )ago.
Besides clothes, interior decoration is my favorite subject.

This is exactly how my living room will looks like;
somebody stole my idea ;)
